Environment

We support initiatives addressing critical environmental challenges, particularly those related to water quality and availability. We prioritize funding on efforts to protect, preserve, restore, and sustainably manage natural ecosystems.

We prioritize funding for:

  • Water resource management

  • Wetland preservation and restoration

  • Fish and wildlife habitat protection

  • Forest conservation and sustainability

  • Alternative energy solutions

  • Toxic pollution prevention and remediation

  • Climate change mitigation

  • Recycling and waste reduction

  • Sustainable agriculture and farmland conservation

How We Support These Goals:
We provide funding to organizations that actively contribute to the protection, restoration, and sustainable management of the environment, and are dedicated to impactful, hands-on work that drives meaningful environmental progress.  We consider projects to advance these goals through: youth education and public outreach programs, direct conservation and restoration actions, environmental litigation, advocacy, and scientific research that informs policymaking and promotes change.

Social Services

The foundation is committed to funding projects, programs, and general operating support in key social service areas that address pressing issues related to violence, vulnerability, and the well-being of individuals and communities. Our approach emphasizes prevention, early intervention, and comprehensive support to create long-term, positive change.

We prioritize funding for:

  • Reproductive Rights and Teen Pregnancy Prevention initiatives, with a focus on safeguarding abortion rights, expanding access to comprehensive reproductive health care, and protecting individual freedoms. This includes efforts to increase access to birth control, provide comprehensive sex education, uphold reproductive rights, and support for young parents through programs that build life skills and encourage delaying subsequent pregnancies.

  • Support for Survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Trafficking, funding comprehensive direct support services for survivors, as well as educational programs focused on healthy relationships, preventing future violence, and protecting at-risk populations.

Our primary focus in social service grantmaking is prevention. We support organizations that take a hands-on approach to education and early identification of risks, along with holistic approaches that address the underlying causes of relationship issues and sexual violence. We support a wide range of solutions designed to reduce violence, improve access to direct support services, and enhance overall well-being, ultimately building stronger, safer, and more resilient communities.
