Environment

Our main environmental focus is on water quality/quantity issues. We fund:

  • Identification and control of toxic pollutants

  • Water (rivers, streams, estuaries) restoration with an emphasis on migrating salmon

  • Wetland protection

  • Enforcement of state and federal environmental laws through litigation

  • Prevention of urban sprawl through growth management

In addition, we consider support in land conservation, forest habitat preservation, climate change mitigation, wildlife welfare, public education campaigns, and the promotion of sustainable living. We are especially interested in grass-roots activism and hands-on education programs specifically designed to foster positive attitudes about environmental concerns.

Social Services

The foundation supports projects, programs and general operating support in the following focus areas:

  • Teen pregnancy prevention programs, including birth control accessibility, comprehensive sex education, reproductive rights, and programs for young parents to build skills and delay further pregnancies.

  • Parenting skills classes, especially programs designed to prevent child abuse.

  • Comprehensive domestic violence and sexual assault direct services and education programs.

Our primary goal in social service grant making is prevention. We stress early education and identification of problems and causes, and seek a wide range of solutions to social problems related to overpopulation and violence.

  • Raise awareness and promote action on our Environmental and Social Service priorities.

Please note that we are not accepting new grant requests for 2024. To determine if you qualify for a 2025 arts grant, please reach out to our Executive Director for further details.
